[The convenience store door opened with a “ding-dong.”]
[”Welcome...”]
[Minsu yawned big. The clock read 4:11 AM. Today too there were almost no customers.]
[A tall man dressed in black slowly came in. In his hand he was holding a very long scythe.]
[”A... scythe?”]
[Minsu was startled. But he was too sleepy so he just stared. He thought it was a dream.]
[The man walked toward the snack shelf. The scythe hit the shelf “bang!” Bags of snacks tumbled to the floor.]
[”Oh no, sorry...”]
[The man yawned again. Then he went to the fridge and took out energy drinks. One, two, three. He took out three.]
[”I was so tired today, so I came to buy some.”]
[”Ah... okay...”]
[Minsu scanned the barcode. Then he looked at the man’s face closely. His face was very white, and under his eyes was black. A cold wind blew from his clothes.]
[There was a name tag on his chest. The name was “Kim Sashin.”]
[”Um... by any chance... are you really a reaper?”]
[”Yes, that’s right.”]
[Kim Sashin took a paper from his pocket. Many names were written on it.]
[”These days there’s just been so much work. I have to visit twenty people a day. Yesterday twenty, the day before twenty too.”]
[”Wow... that must be hard.”]
[”And my salary doesn’t go up either.”]
[Kim Sashin drank the energy drink all at once. Then he went “ahhh~.”]
[”Actually I was looking for an address, but I got lost and ended up here.”]
[”That’s a relief. For me, anyway.”]
[Kim Sashin laughed. He had no teeth.]
[”You’re funny.”]
[Kim Sashin looked at the paper again. Then he looked at Minsu’s name tag. Then he looked at the paper again.]
[Minsu’s heart started to speed up.]
[”Huh...?”]
[”Mr. Kim Minsu?”]
“...네?”
[”...Yes?”]
[Kim Sashin yawned big. Then he put the paper back in his pocket. He put the scythe on his shoulder.]
[”I’m too tired so I can’t do it today. I’ll come back tomorrow.”]
[”What...?”]
[The door closed “ding-dong.”]
[Minsu picked up the fallen snacks. His hands trembled.]
[Two thousand won was placed on the counter. And there was a small note too.]
[On the note, this was written:]
[”See you tomorrow.”]
