무당이 본 것 - What the Shaman Saw [중 中]

[He hid within the market’s murmur. As he had for decades.]

[Red cloth covered the horn. People didn’t see. Didn’t want to.]

[”You’ve endured long.”]

[Ulfrik stopped. An old woman looked up at him. White hair, small frame. But those eyes—]

[A shaman.]

[”What do you want.” He lowered his voice.]

[The old woman named Haewon tilted her head.]

[”Your horn is weeping.”]

[His hand went to his forehead. Under the cloth, the horn was wet. Blood.]

[”The time has come.” Haewon whispered. “It’s calling you.”]

[”What is.”]

[”What you killed.” Her pupils rolled white. “No—what you believed you killed.”]

[The market’s sound vanished. So did the people.]

[Only the two remained.]

[Ulfrik didn’t reach for his blade. He knew it was useless.]

[”Where must I go?”]

[Haewon pointed north. Her finger split and blood beaded.]

[”To where you began. To finish it.”]

[He nodded. Blood from the horn ran down his jaw.]

[The first and final journey.]
